Storytelling Festival

 Three Storytellers - Two Nights
 Six Unique Performances!

 

On Friday, May 30th and Saturday, May 31st, the art of Story Telling will return again to the Ohio Valley.  The Strand Theatre Preservation Society will be hosting four well known storytellers for the Third Annual Strand Theatre Storytelling Festival.  

This years stellar performers include some of the best storytellers in the country...
Bil Lepp, Kim Weitkamp, & Kevin Cordi...

The Festival will include two days of exciting and entertaining events:

On Friday, the Storytelling Festival will officially being with a performance by the fore mentioned storytellers, beginning at 6:30 pm at the John Marshall High School auditorium.

On Saturday there will be an Amateur Liar’s Competition held for any person age 12 and up who believe they have mastered the art of storytelling.  This event will begin at 10:00 am.  A Youth Storytelling Showcase will be held at 1:00 pm. Both the Amateur Liar's Competition and Youth Storytelling Showcase are free to the public.  On Saturday evening, all Three storytellers will return with a second unique performance....   

Again, there will be two unique evening performances on Friday and Saturday evenings beginning at 6:30 pm at the Simpson Church, Moundsville.

Admission for 6:30 Performances

$10.00 per Day
$15.00 Weekend Pass

 Students (15 & Under) ~ $5.00 per Day

Tickets can be purchased for Friday, Saturday, or a Weekend Pass to enjoy all eight performances!!!  Tickets can be purchased in advance at HomeTowne Floral Shoppe, (4th Street Moundsville), Moundsville Pharmacy (along Rt. 2, Moundsville) or at the Marshall County Chamber of Commerce (7th & Jefferson Ave, Mdsv.)

STORYTELLER Bios.

Bil Lepp is a five-time champion of the West Virginia Liars Contest. He tells original, hilarious, tales that will bring a smile to the face of even the most ill humored person. Bil Lepp is a nationally known storyteller with a down home feel.

Kim Weitkamp is best known for her skills in laying down a whopper of tale, combining humor, original childhood stories and just a touch of fertilizer to create stories that can compete with the best of them.

Kevin Cordi is a nationally-recognized Storyteller whose parents were raised in West Virginia and good-naturedly claims, "Stories were born in West Virginia, everyone else borrows."
